[GP] training day
There was a trope that in prison there wasn't much to do except work out or read. As colorful as Madonna Inn might be, it was still a prison. And look, somebody had put together a library.
Put fifty some people, many of them military, adventurers, vigilantes, or superheroes of one stripe or another, in a prison with none of the urgent missions or near-death experiences they were used to, the fitness center was going to be a popular place. Maybe almost as popular as the bar.
... Probably not quite that popular.
There were free weights and weight machines, treadmills and ellipticals, yoga mats and exercise balls. A room set aside for classes, if someone decided to lead. A large square had been taped over an area of the floor off to one side as a make-shift sparring space. Sports equipment had been brought back from Bonesville for those who preferred more organized games. And those who had been stuck here longest remembered there hadn't always been a salmon ladder.
In other words, something for just about everybody. And you could usually find someone in there if you were looking for a spotter, workout buddy, sparring partner, friendly competition too.

OTA
Shirtless at the moment, Alec was on the salmon ladder. He was moving with a speed that was half his ability, but still fast for a 'normal human' and he wasn't missing any of the rungs. After a few rounds of that he jumped off, sweaty, and reached for his towel. Alec glanced around the room. He was really itching for a fight.
Re: OTA
"Hi." She greeted when she was close enough to talk. No, Slayer Tingles so no Alternate/Wishverse Vampire Dean. Whew!
Re: OTA
Buffy was on the receiving end of a big, charming smile. Alec couldn't help but notice how hot she was He had seen her around the inn before, but this was the first time it was up close and personal.
"Hey. You looking for a partner to train?" Because he'd love to be her partner.
Re: OTA
It was the truth but she knew that he'd take it as a joke.
Re: OTA
"I know enough about girls to know some can kick my ass." He winked to her. "But most don't hold back."
Re: OTA
"Okay, then I'll give as much as I can unless you tell me different. Deal?"

"You look like you might be lost." Though he kind of looked hardcore in a Dungeons and Dragons sort of way.
Re: OTA
Re: OTA
He let out a small laugh. "Okay, you got me there. But you're looking at this place like it's some science fiction stuff."

Re: OTA
It would probably have been more graceful if she hadn't been wearing a Madonna Inn sweatshirt that was big enough to be a dress on her. Better too if she had proper footwear.
Not that River noticed or cared.
Re: OTA
The dancing from the girl caught Alec's attention. While he had seen her around before, he hadn't really interacted with her at all. She seemed kind of... odd. Still, she was also kind of cute.
He sauntered up, leaning against the barre. "The shirt looks a bit big on you."
Re: OTA
"It needed to be adequately covering. A smaller shirt would have failed." She was also wearing leggings which had been as close to tights as had been available.
Re: OTA
Alec thought how not having adequate covering wouldn't be necessarily a bad thing and then paused and wondered how old she was. Was she too young? Was he being a perv? Now he was trying to figure that out as he stared.
Re: OTA
"I lose track." She wasn't sure how long she'd been at the Academy, how old she had been when Simon had saved what was left of her. Then there was Serenity and now she was here. But how long had it been? It was possible she had missed a birthday in there somewhere and she was seventeen now.
Or not.
She honestly didn't know.

He grabbed a spray bottle and stray towel, wiped down the rungs he could easily reach, and flipped the towel over his shoulder. He'd catch the others on his first pass. That turned out to be harder than it seemed, but Sam managed, then tossed the towel down -- and in Alec's general direction (mostly unintentionally).
Re: OTA
Alec had to side-step not to get a face full of Sam sweat. "Dude." As in to say 'um, I'm standing here, thanks."
Re: OTA
Re: OTA
He rolled his eyes.
"You sure you're related to Dean?" Because... fire and water.

Re: OTA
She knew how she looked. Slender, willowy, built like the prima ballerina she'd trained to be and not the demon-ninja trained fighter she'd become. Then there were the powers he didn't know she had. Still, he wasn't the type to turn down that challenge. Even if he was sure he'd be doing the ass-kicking.
Besides, she'd seen him on the salmon ladder. She'd lay decent odds on him being enhanced somehow.
Re: OTA
Alec smiled wryly to her and took her in again as he walked closer and more over to the area for sparring. "If it's by someone like you, than yeah."
Re: OTA
She set herself in the center of the mat that had appeared after the trip to Bonesville and then beckoned. "Let's see what you've got."
Re: OTA
"Alright." He was a little like a kid excited at the chance to go on a new ride. He hadn't had a lot of opportunity to fight since he got here and he realized he missed it, even if life sucked back home. Probably how he was made.
Alec entered the sparring area, hands up in a military stance with watchful eyes. He decided to start out with the basics - he sent two punches - left then right- and a kick to the shin.
