Bakery Decisions (OTA)

It had been a few days stuck in an Inn that Quill thought was pretty fantastic except for the fact he was stuck there. It was a place he would bring Gamora, but first he needed to find Gamora. In order to find Gamora, he needed to be back him. This was the main problem.

He was thankful that he could get his nose healed. It looked good-as-new and still one of his best features.

Currently he was looking over the bakery goods. Brownies are classic, but the cupcakes look equally as good

"Always!" He answered with a grin. "Especially the music part. You know, I saved the entire universe having a dance off battle."

“What? Seriously? Why can’t I stop apocalypses with dance offs?” It wasn’t exactly a whine but more of a life’s not fair inward pout.

Quill regarded her.

"I think you could." He said honest. Someone as hot as you could definitely stop a bad guy in their track "Maybe you just haven't found your muse yet."

"Oh I have muses, it's just the stupid big bads, won't die to something as fun as a dance off." Buffy brightened as she asked, "so how did you save the world with a dance off?"

"This asshat named Ronin had this stone that could destroy planets." He explained, "So I took a line from one of the biggest heroes alive, Kevin Bacon, and danced. Distracted him enough to let my friends steal the stone away."

"Oh good move. Distractions are always good with big bads. Did you dance to Footloose?" Buffy grinned as she teased, though that would be cool if he had.

"I wish," Quill lamented. "I had to provide my own soundtrack. It was still pretty impressive, but It would have been more impressive if I had been able to dance to the real song, you know?"

"It would be epic." Buffy nodded in agreement. "I wish I'd have seen that. What song did you pick?"

"Ooh Child, things are going to be brighter, by The Five Stairsteps." He replied proudly. "I nailed it too."

Buffy had to think for a minute. "I don't think I know that song." She might if she heard it, but it didn't seem familiar. She shot him a quick grin, "feel like demonstrating?"

Quill would never turn down a moment to impress a pretty woman. He grinned.

"Certainly," He said.

He cleared his throat and started to sing. Quill couldn't happen to put a little bit of dance into it as he sang because how could you not jam out to this song?

"OH! I know that song." Buffy nodded, enjoying the show. "I haven't heard it in a long time."

Usually when they were playing oldies but Buffy didn't mention that part.

"Really?" He said, somewhat perplexed. "Pretty sure that song should be a classic no matter when you're from."

It was just like when Spider-Man said Footloose wasn't the best movie of all time. People's priorities were off.

"Oh, it's a classic." Buffy agreed, because classic meant old. She didn't have a problem with old. Her last boyfriend was over two hundred years old.

"I'm more of a boy band girl." She grinned and sang a little of I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys.

Quill had never heard of that song before. I kind of dig it.

"Not bad," He said. "It's no Kenny Loggins, but it's not bad. Do you have their album?"

"Not here." Buffy admitted. "I have the CD back home though. I used to listen to it all the time."

"That's too bad." He said honestly. "Maybe one of those otherworlds will be a place where your band dominates the charts and you can buy another one."

Now I kind of want to hear these guys.

"So, have you decided on a something?" He said, eyes back to the treats in front of them.

Now Buffy wished that her Easter surprise egg had music in it instead of a picture of some girl that she had no idea who it was.

She turned her attention back to the bakery counter. "Yep. I think I'm going to get a big brownie and maybe stop by the cafe and get some ice cream to go with it."

Slayer metabolism was a blessing.

"I like your style." He said with a smile, then extended his hand. "I'm Quill, by the way, but everyone calls me Star-Lord."

"Thanks, I'm Buffy, but most people call me Slayer." She figured since he said his title, she'd say hers. Not that she knew what a Star Lord was. But, she was pretty sure he never heard of Slayer either.

"Ooo, Slayer. I like it." He said with a nod. "It sounds super bad-ass."

Quill could tell by looking at her she was much more like Gamora than Mantis.

"What do you slay? Anything or do you have a niche market?" He asked curiously.

"I have a specialty. Vampires. Though I can slay any supernatural bad guy." She was an equal opportunity slayer. "Before I came here I killed a demon that wanted to become some snake god thingy."

She hadn't really paid attention to what the Mayor was going to be, only the last time it died was in a volcano.

Quill made a face.

"Why would anyone want to become a snake god?" He asked. "There has got to be a better type of god out there."

"I know, right? I mean I get that it's supposed to be this all powerful demon Old One god thingy, but a snake? And it wasn't like the Mayor wasn't already super old, he was over a hundred years old." Buffy didn't mention that her boyfriend at the time was over two hundred, that was different.

Quill made an 'ew' face.

"Did he have a lot of wrinkles?" He asked, waving his palm at his face. "I'm picturing a lot of wrinkles. Like those wrinkle dogs."
